8 1/2"h x 10 1/4"w color landscape orientation photograph of the St. Francis Xavier Church and the Newtown Manor House. Both buildings were largely obscured by trees. It was a story and a half building with a white clapboard steeple with a black shingle roof. There was a white orb and cross at the tip of the steeple. The church was brick on each end with cream siding on the long walls. This view showed the north end and west wall. There were five windows in the west wall and a door into the sacristy at the far end. There were three faces in the north end, each with a six over six double hung window on the upper floor and a double door in the center of the lower floor flanked by windows. A simple white wooden fence separated the front of the church from the parking lot. A gable roofed sign said "St. Francis Xavier Church" in blue letters. In the middle distance there was a white Virgin Mary statue near a white lightpole. There were then large dark green bushes between the statue and the Manor House; an electric service pole was also in the bushes. The north and west elevations of the Manor House were partially visible. The ancient brick building had an English basement, two full floors, and an attic with quite a few windows. There was a pair of inside end chimneys with a pent. There were two windows in the attic level of the pent. One gable roofed dormer was visible in the roof. On the west end, there was a window on the second floor close to the edge of each wall. There were no windows on the lower floors on this end. Barely visible on the north side is a single window and a large blue door well above ground level. It was easy to see the former roof line on the west end of the building. There was also a large leanto shed there that was removed.
