Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of the interior of St. Ignatius Church in St. Inigoes. Mr. Fenwick wrote, "This church was built in 1736 and is the third church built in St. Inigoes Manor. It is the oldest Catholic Parish in English speaking America." This view is of the entry end of the sanctuary. The ceiling is a barrel vault and it is possible to glimpse some of the painting in the panels. The triangular leaded glass window is high above the choir pews. It is possible to make out some of the pews in the side galleries. There are support pillars where the gallery turns corners. On the first floor, there are dark double doors at the back of the sanctuary. Framed pictures of saints? stations of the cross? are on the walls. There is a decorative band that marks the top of the pews. There may be confessional booths on the left.
