Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of the St. John's Church in Hollywood. This is a gable roof building that is Victorian in flavor. There is grand entry addition on the gable end. There are two double wooden entry doors four steps above the ground. Above each door group is a large double gothic arch window with a cross in the space between the arches. On the visible side of the entry is a small double hung gothic arch window. On what would be the second floor, there is another such window, and a third is over the right hand pair of doors. Over the left pair of door is a very elaborate triptych of gothic arched windows with the center window taller than the others. The spire begins not far above these windows with first two triangular pieces of gingerbead and then fish scale siding placed to produce stripes on the tapering sides. The bell tower has six openings, with a two decker railing and gingerbread all around the top of the space. There are dentils under the cornice and then a dark pyramid roof topped with a cross. On the gable end of the main building, fish scale siding is used to a short way down from the roof peak to blend with the bell tower and then regular clapboard is used after that. Also on the gable end is a large window on each side of the entry with a pointed arch and colored glazing. There are screens or shutters over the lower half of the windows. On the long side of the building are visible three pointed arch windows. The middle opening has a door in its bottom half that is three steps above the ground. Just beyond the third window is an outside chimney that pierces the edge of the roof behind the gutters. Another chimney is just visible on the far gable end. There are lightning conductors on the roof.
