3 1/2"h x 3"w black and white photo of the St. Mary's Academy building. This was the 1885 version in the process of being torn down. The building was three stories with a mansard roof. It was three bays wide and four bays deep. The narrow end of the building faced the Hollywood Road. A small steeple was in the center of the narrow end. It had louvers on four sides and a tall flared pyramid roof with a cross still in place. On the roof level, there were three large windows in the narrow end of the building and four large windows on the sides. All the glazing was removed. On the second floor, nearly all the exterior walls had been removed, but most of the interior walls were in place. On the first floor, most of the exterior walls remained. There was still glazing in the front of the building. There was a flat roofed porch on the front of the building. The 1936 building was just visible in the distance.
