5 7/16"w x 3 1/2"h postcard with a horizontal orientation. The black and white image is 3 1/16"h, leaving a small space at the bottom for the title and publication details. The viewer was standing in front of the large building. The Academy was a large two story building with a center section and two wings. There was a three bay two story porch on the center section. There was a fenced circular drive in front of the porch. The windows of the building were tall and narrow, with a variety of light patterns. Some had their shutters closed. There may have been a large window in the pediment over the porch. On the roof peak over the porch was a strange square construction with a circular roof that looked for all the world like a water tower. On the verso was the typical center divider between the mailing address and the message. This card was addressed to Miss Lucie Loker in Valley Lee, without a message. In the upper left corner was the eagle, shield, arrows, and olive branch all in brown ink. The card had not been posted. It was published by L. A. Jones & Son.Collection
