Description

5"h x 7"w black and white photo of members of the new St. Mary's City Commission studying signage at Jamestown in 1967. Mary Combs (aka Polly) Barber, the executive director of the Commission, was standing right next to the sign. Someone, perhaps someone out of the picture, was talking, because none of the people in the photo were speaking and they seemed to be listening intently. Most people were standing on a carefully laid brick pavement. ******************************************* Text on verso: typed on the top edge "St. Mary [sic] City Commission at Jamestown, Va. April 9, 1967 photo by Mrs. Forman" in blue ball point pen "L. to R. Mary Combs (Polly) Barber Gen. Robert Hogaboom Dr. Henry C. Forman Charles E. Fenwick Mary Carter Roberts LaVerne M. Fenwick Dr. Verne Chatterlane" The man with his back to the camera and the man with a white pocket square were not identified
