1 folder ; 9 5/8" x 11 7/8" The Homemakers Clubs played a large part in the county fair. It appears that organization purchased one share in the original organization of the county fair. Therefore, as a shareholder, the St. Mary's Council of Homemakers Clubs received a letter from the fair association asking them to vote its share in an upcoming association meeting. No date Tentative Program for the 1972 fair March 26, 1973 St. Mary's County Fair Association passed a resolution to reconfigure the Association from a for-profit entity to a non-profit entity which would more accurately reflect what the Association actually did and to get the fair out from under several tax levies. The resolution required a vote by the Association members, not just the Board. April 9, 1973 Letter to the Stockholders of the St. Mary's County Fair Association to explain about the transition from profit to non-profit and to ask for a yea vote at a stockholders meeting on April 30. Shares of stock would no longer have any monetary value, but no dividends had ever been paid anyway. Glenn Wood, Jr. was president of the Association at the time. There is a handwritten note at the bottom of the letter: "1 share." April 30, 1973 Photocopy of the notice sent to shareholders giving a time line for notice and the citation of the ... Association's articles of incorporation. Twelve members of the Fair Association signed the notice.
