Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of St. Mary's Manor. Mr. Fenwick's text: "St. Mary's Manor (East St. Mary's) at St. Mary's City. Designed and built by Vincent Camalier, architect, in 1846-7." [This house is known as the Brome-Howard house.] This view shows the land side of the clapboard house. It has a metal? gable roof with two gable dormers facing the camera. On the second floor there are three six over six double hung windows with dark shutters. The middle window has its shutters closed. The gable roofed and pedimented porch has square posts tapering toward the top. There are three substantial bays. The door to the house is on the right. It has a nine light transom and five lights on each side of the large door. There are two large six over six windows with dark shutters on the left. The porch is five steps above the ground and is on piers with lattice work in between. There is a very large bush right in front of the porch. A two story addition is just visible on the left. There are two small windows up under the eaves and there seems to be a porch on the first floor.
