This is a photograph of the original St. Nicholas Church. The photographer was standing on a path leading to the church. A stile climbed the split rail fence so a pedestrian could get to the church yard. A tall pyramid structure is to the left of the stile. There was either an event at the church or the service had just let out because there were many people in the church yard. Two buggies were in the foreground, but the rest were far off across a field. To the right in the distance appeared to be the graveyard. The building itself was a simple gable roofed structure. There was a double door on the first floor gable end and some tall windows on the visible long side. There were two windows on the gable end where a second floor or a balcony might be and one such window on the long edge. There was a chicken track up the roof to the belfry. It was a dark four-sided open space with no bell and a pyramid roof. Close inspection suggests a cross on this roof, but the photo is badly overexposed.
