The sepia tone postcard is of St. Peter's Church in Leonardtown. Mr. Fenwick also took a photo of the postcard and enlarged it to a 5" x 7' print. The postcard image almost looks like an etching. The church was a simple gable structure with a steeple and entryway all in one unit centered on the gable end of the building. The church was made with vertical board and batten siding and had what appeared to be a cedar shake roof. The gable end had a tall narrow pointed arch window on each side of the entry/steeple. The entry had a pointed arch double door. There was a short slope for the "shoulders" of this space and then the steeple grew out of it. There was a round window at what would be the second story of a regular building. Just before the peak of the roof of the main building, there were sloping "shoulders" again and one more four-sided piece rose past the roof peak. There was either a window or belfry opening in the front about halfway up in this space. A gable roof surmounted the steeple and a cross rose from the back. Another cross was right at the roof peak on the opposite gable end of the church. A small chimney pierced the roof near the eave and back corner of the building. There were four tall narrow pointed arch windows on the long side of the building. There was substantial foliage around the building until one might be suspicious that it was not used. A tree was in the yard directly in front of the door, so the path to the entry came from the side. There was a rail fence in front of the building.
