Description

Black and white photograph 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w of river side entrance to State House replica at Historic St. Mary's City. This is the north and west wings. A patchy lawn is before the building. There is an arched opening into an open porch that has an arched opening on its side. The interior of the porch is painted white. The second floor window is directly above the door and has 12 lights below and eight lights above. This wing has a gable roof, as does the main building. There is an outside end chimney on each side of the main building. On the first floor a pair of windows is visible on one side of the porch and one side of the main building. The bottom part of each window has closed shutters, and the top part of each window has nine lights. The second floor window, up near the eaves, has sixteen lights on the bottom portion and eight lights above. On the north wing, a small window is barely visible looking out at the chimney. Light, but no view. A flag is barely visible on the roof peak. There is shrubbery around the building and substantial trees on each side. A stone path is just visible on the left edge of the photo. ******************************************* Text on verso: "Picture 3 Replica statehouse 1953" This photo was on page 1 of Binder 1.
