Description

Strongbox aka footlocker in 2 pieces with lock from top to the bottom. The lock was broken when box was received, but keys, which worked, were in the box. It is metal, painted black inside and out. TOP: Dull gold strip outlined in red forms rectangle about 3/4" from outside edge with dull gold stripe around sides of top. The bail handle from the middle of the top is missing. BOTTOM: Has wire handles on each narrow end LABELS: Top: "E.R. Hebb and E.P. Hebb, Wilmington, Delaware" in cursive in ink; Top: "E.P. Hebb [F]ranklin [Street] Wilmington" in cursive in ink; Bottom front: White with red edge to left under keyhole "Miss Hebb's papers"; Bottom front: White with ornate black and white border, left side near intersection with back, "Certificate No. [2?]007, Name Mrs. Jean [Kane?] Foulke Dupont, Seal No. 15899"
