The 1975 pageant focussed on the British incursions on St. George Island. There was a parade of re-enactment groups from far and wide, speeches by dignitaries, food, 2 softball games, exhibits and demonstrations, trooping of the colors and general fun and games. The Baltimore Sun article covered the many re-enactment units that attended the festivities.
The program for the July 17, 1976 pageant commemorated the arrival of the Declaration of Independence in the County with parades and music and speakers. The next day, July 18, was a commemoration of the battle for St. George Island with a barbecue, exhibits, speakers, films, and the re-enactment, followed by a softball game. The booklet includes a list of the patriots who were represented by relatives or other interested parties in costume. There was a chronology of events during revolutionary times and some statistics about St. Mary's countians who served.
The speech by James J. Kilpatrick to the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the American Revolution made comparisons between Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" and the thinking of the founding fathers.
Wilhelmina D? wrote to Mr. Beitzell about locating some of the bodies at the Battle of Cowpens.
