Scope and Content

1 folder ; 9 5/8" x 11 3/4" Mr. Coad farmed Porto Bello until he sold it in the 1950s and then he farmed at Chestnut Hill in Leonardtown. He used tenants on each farm. The bank deposit tickets are nearly all associated with the farms and show the net income for tobacco, corn, and other crops. The Miscellaneous folder includes tax bills and a mystery check. Coad produced enough Lespedeza seed to interest a seed merchant in Baltimore. There is some 1950s correspondence about the product.
