Description

Sepia tone photo 6 1/8"h x 9 3/8"w of the tombstone of Susannah Maria Lowe. The stone is prone. In a circle carved near the top there is a crest, but details are not legible. The photo was provided to Mr. Fenwick by J. Allan Coad in 1956. ******************************************* Two sheets accompany the photo. One sheet is a dark photocopy of a damaged original. The text on the stone: "Here lyeth the Body of Susannah Maria Lowe, late wife of Henry Lowe, of the family of the Bennetts, who departed this life the 28th day of July 1714 in the 48th year of her age" There is another paragraph about the Bennett family, a citation for the information, and Mr. Fenwick's note about receiving the photo. The other sheet is a photocopy of Mr. Fenwick's note paper listing the owners of De La Brooke Manor and property in the vicinity from 1650 to 1733.
