This is an 8"h x 10"w faded color photo of the presentation of a turkey and oysters from Saint Mary's County to President and Mrs. Kennedy in December 1961 at the White House. The large group is standing on a porch. L-R: J. Frank Combs in back, T. Webster Bell in front, an unidentified older woman in back, the Queen of Tolerance? in front, James Hodges in back, an unidentified woman behind the turkey, Buck Briscoe in back, and two unidentified men to the right. The man in the top coat might be another Hodges. The turkey is on top of his travel crate with a wrapped package and three cans of oysters, but he is not happy to be there. The commercially prepared sign on the front of the crate says "Mr. St. Mary's Co. the V Gift to President and Mrs. Kennedy from the good people of St. Mary's Co. MD. Seasons Greetings 1961 Ted Barker" [in small letters in the lower right corner] The photo is three-hole punched for inclusion in a notebook.
