3 1/8"h x 2"w tintype of an unknown white male. The face seems almost deliberately defaced. The man had on a black hat, close in style to a fedora, a white shirt, plaid vest, and dark coat with rather wide lapels. The photographer had painted in a bright blue tie. The man had rather large ears. The tintype was glued to a piece of very thin paper which was attached on the bottom edge to a paper "frame" that folded up over the image. There was an oval opening to view the subject.
