Scope and Content

1 compact disk ; 4 11/16" in diameter Everlyn Louise Swales Holland's oral history interview on November 20, 1996. She thought people were not as connected as they once were. Teenagers have the same hopes and fears. She did not think the racial climate in the county was much better. She talked about mind segregation in the schools and racism in general. She has observed that some outsiders who come to the county have an agenda. She felt the two biggest changes in her lifetime were the arrival of the base and the integration of the schools. She recalled the integration of the movie theater. She also made reference to a White Citizens' Council. The interview is on one disk and in a black plastic container with a cream label on the spine.
