4 5/8"h x 7 1/4"w sepia tone photo taken of a typical St. Mary's County house I have been unable to identify. This was a view of the long side of the story and a half house with a gable roof. It had a single story addition on the left. This may have been a post in ground house. It was barely elevated above the ground. The porch had a dirt floor and the supporting four posts were in the ground. There was a center entry door and another entry door halfway between the center door and the left corner. There was a small high window near the second door. The was a larger window between the center door and the right corner. I think the house was whitewashed. The roof of the larger building seemed to be in good condition, but the porch roof had not been repaired. There were two gable roofed dormers in the roof with six over six windows in dubious repair. There was a chimney on each gable end; the one on the left was much larger. The small addition had a shake roof in poor repair. It had one entry door, but no windows on the visible wall.
