Carte-de-visite 3 5/8"h x 2 1/4"w on 4 1/16"h x 2 1/2"w board of the infant V. Howard Ford. He is facing slightly to the left. He has light hair, but not much of it. He has on a white (?) sleeved baby dress with an eyelet ruffle at the hem and perhaps elsewhere. He has on a necklace of some type. He is seated on a divan with elaborate wood and dark upholstery with two colors of drape behind it and a quilt with a square figure right next to the baby. His right hand is on the back of the divan and his left arm hangs at his side. He has a merry expression. In the extra space on the bottom of the photo it says "From Richard Walzl, No. 205 W. Balto. St. Balto."

On the verso there is a sort of wallpaper background of various small pale purple circles with designs on a pale blue background: "Instantaeous portrait from the 'Imperial' Art Studio, 205 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore. Richard Walzl, proprietor" Someone had written "V. Howard Ford" in fountain ink on the top edge of the verso. This piece was in the upper right of page 4 of the dark red photograph album.Collection
