This is a 1987 photo of Veronica Biscoe Reid. She is seated on a sofa, looking straight into the camera. Her pepper and salt hair is gently waved, close to her head on top and flaring out a little around her ears. She has on a dark short sleeved knit top with 2 thin bands of white trim around the neck and a pair of knit slacks with a light background and outlined cinquefoil flowers. She appears to have on hose and has on open-toed tri-color leather pumps with perhaps a 1" heel. Between her feet is a large pressure cooker, the country woman's friend.
The sofa has an afghan over the back and a striped throw with fringe covers the seat. A chair next to it is also covered by a throw with ball fringe. Draperies of Jacobean style embroidery hang behind the sofa. The light colored carpet is heavily sculpted. Below her image is the catchphrase for the exhibit, "Celebrating the Women of St. Mary's County's Past."Collection
