Description

7 1/2"h x 9 1/2"w photo of the county's veterans of World War I taken in the Leonardtown Square. Most of the men are in uniform, but several are in civilian clothes. Patriotic bunting and banners are in various locations behind the men. The photographer was in front of the bank looking toward St. Aloysius Church. There are six or more rows of people, so it is difficult to identify many of the men. I do not see even one woman. In ink in the grass space in front of the group, "Sergent Frank Cpl. Burroughs John Duke [ but their location in the photo was not pinpointed] 2nd row Cousin Kenneth Marine for 1/2 day" and in the upper right corner "1919" ***************************************** Text on verso in blue ball point ink: "Span. Amer. War"
