View of St. Mary's River from St. Mary's CityEntry/Object ID
2001.001.0012Description
5 3/8"w x 3 3/8"h postcard. The black and white image is 3 1/4"h, leaving a narrow space for the title and publication data. The viewer was standing on the bluff looking west across and down the Saint Mary's River. There were a few trees and a three bar fence on the left, presumably to mark the beginning of the Brome property. The hill was high, with a steep dropoff. A two-masted schooner was visible in the middle distance. The verso was the usual center line division with the left for correspondence and the right for an address, neither of which had been used. In the upper left corner was the eagle, shield, arrows, and olive branch all in brown ink. This card was published by the Illustrated Post Card Company of New York.Collection
