Black wallet, I believe meant to be carried in an inside pocket of a suit coat. It is probably leatherette--the tears indicate it has a paper interior. The back folds over across the front with a scalloped edge and has a 5 1/2" tab that carries to the back and slides under a small strap. Inside there are several pockets with flaps and some accordion pockets. One pocket is probably meant to hold bank notes. There is a long loop meant to hold a writing implement, although no paper sheets are in this wallet. Tucked in the back accordion pocket are four small mailing envelopes with contents and several loose financial records. Much of this material revolved around a mortgage of J. Marshall and Ida Dent's store held by Cecie Freeman.
