The outside surface of this document when folded says: "Application for widow's pension, War of 1812." Emeline McWilliams, widow of James McWilliams, is filing a claim. Mr. McWilliams had a previous wife, Eleanor Neale, but that woman was deceased. John A. Camalier is acting as Mrs. McWilliams attorney. The form suggests Mr. McWilliams served for 3 years. Just to add to the confusion, Mrs. McWilliams' previous married name was Williams. Not all the blanks are filled in, so this may be the locally retained copy of the form that was filed.Collection
