Washington, Brandywine, and Point Lookout Railroad freight and passenger locomotive 1Entry/Object ID
2019.009.0019Description
8"h x 10"w black and white photo of the small locomotive, freight, and passenger engine sitting on a siding. A two story house and an automobile were visible in the right background. In the nose was something that looked like the grill of a truck with "FWD" in large letters on the mesh. There was a cow catcher below and what may have been a coupling device. There was a pair of wheels at the front and one more set at the rear. The driver sat on the right. There was a large light and a horn mounted on the molding strip above the cab. The entry door was not quite in the middle of the side of the car--two narrow doors, each with a narrow light on the top half. There were five rectangular lights behind that door to accomodate possibly four rows of passenger seats. There was a small platform just visible on the back, so there may have been an exit in the back as well. Dark initials "W. B. & P. L. R. R." were below the passenger windows for Washington, Brandywine, and Point Lookout Railroad.
Text on verso: A label printed in black ink for the California State Railroad Museum. The photo came from the G. M. Best Collection. A negative number was included.Collection
