This black and white photo postcard shows Washington Street in Leonardtown looking north from the square. There are tall trees on each side of the dirt road. In the right foreground, a power pole with three cross members and a transformer are visible, as are the wires above the street. A white box fence surrounds the trunk of a tree in the immediate right foreground. Horses and a wagon are visible in the distance on the right. The houses on the left seem to be right up to the road. There is a horse and carriage dimly visible in the middle on the left. In a band on the bottom of the postcard is the following text: "6291 Washington Street, looking north, Leonardtown, Md. Publ. by F.O. Morgan." On the verso at the top left is a brown eagle holding a shield with olive branches on one side and arrows on the other. Large letters in the middle say "Post Card" the postmark says "Leonardtown, MD. Aug. 1 1 P.M. 1909" The space for correspondence is slightly less than half of the available space. The card is addressed to Nancie Combs at the Seaside Hotel in Atlantic City. The text of the message and the name of the sender are illegible.
