Washington Street in Leonardtown looking south 1Entry/Object ID
1995.001.2256Description
3"h x 5"w sepia tone photo postcard of Washington Street in Leonardtown looking toward Hotel St. Mary's. The visible part of the street was on one side of the square. On the left was a comfortable looking two story home with broad porches and big windows. Another house was beyond it, but entirely obscured by trees. There was an all but obscured two story building and then the hotel loomed above all else. On the right edge of the picture, facing the photographer, was a small low building with a gable end porch. That was the home of the Saint Mary's Reading
Room and Debating Society. On the ground on the square may have been a knocked down tent.
