8" x 10" black and white landscape orientation photo of part of the chimney on the east end of Waterloo near Colton's Point. The Maryland Historical Trust Inventory of Historic Sites in Southern Maryland says this house burned in 1960. The clapboard house had a huge brick double chimney with a large pent between the stacks. There was a small six light window in the center of the pent on the first floor. This view shows clear evidence of another roof for a single story addition [kitchen?] that encompassed the right half of the chimney. The addition's end wall formed by the chimney was painted white, but rising damp had compromised that finish for three or four feet from the ground. There was a passageway into the house just to the right of the chimney. The slightly larger footing for the chimney was crumbling. The visible siding was in poor condition.
