4 9/16"h x 3 1/2"w portrait oriented black and white photo of the White House at Charlotte Hall School. This view was identified by Hope Grace as the north and east sides. The building was a story and a half with white walls and a dark "Dutch" shingle roof. There was an inside end chimney with corbel on each end. On the first floor, there was a shed roof open porch in the center of the long side of the building with the porch floor supported by four small brick posts. The two visible dormers had six over six double hung windows. The large center dormer had vertical siding and a "pediment" created by dark moulding. On the first floor on the long side were two visible tall six over six double hung windows with contrasting flat arch and a door under the porch roof. On the first floor of the gable end were two tall six over six double hung windows with a flat arch on top. The arch was painted a dark color. On the second floor were two smaller six over six double hung windows, also with an arch. A downspout was on the right side of the gable end, almost at the corner. Since there was a slight slope in the ground, there was room for a low access door into the basement on the gable end. There was no landscaping around the building.
