7"h x 9 1/8"w black and white photocopy mounted on foam core board of Wilson Adams' blacksmith shop. In the foreground was a four wheel wagon base behind which were a couple of sets of buggy wheels. A man was sitting in a buckboard? behind a single horse. To the left were five children and five adults staring at the photographer. The man in the buckboard, two boys and a horse were on the right. All of this was in front of a two story gable roofed building with a low shed roof addition on each side. A small chimney pierced the roof on the right near the eaves. On the second floor there were three six over six double hung windows on the gable end and three more windows on the long elevation. On the first floor left addition, there was a single large door. Another large door was in the center of the gable end. Above the door there was a sign "J. [?] W. Adams Wheelrighting and Blacksmithing." There were two six over six windows on the first floor long wall and another in the addition on the right. There was a four panel door into the addition and another window around the corner. There was some sort of shed roof addition on the back. "Under the spreading chestnut tree, the village smithy stands ..." applies here. It may not be a chestnut, but there is a massive tree on the right. The photo is quite faded, so some details are lost. Dr. Guyther used this image in an early presentation on the northern part of the county.
