5 1/2"h x 3 3/4"w sepia photo of a young man all dressed up to take on the world. He stood straight, looking out purposefully, his dark hair parted in the middle and two small "wings" on each side. He had on a boiled shirt with a standup collar, a large black bow tie and one shirt stud visible above his vest. His coat had small lapels and curved back in sort of a cutaway effect. There were two buttons on the coat. His vest, also black, probably had five buttons. He wore a heavy watch chain. There was a carefully installed white handkerchief in his breast pocket. He had on leather gloves. In his right hand he held a walking cane and a bowler hat. His left arm was tucked behind him. The backdrop was a drapery with ball fringe and a wall of a light mottled color. The photo was taken at Towles Studios of Cumberland, Frostburg, and Longoming ? Maryland.
