1837 Letter concerning merchandise shipped from Baltimore to Portsmouth by the steamboat "Pocahontas". The letter reads as follows: "Balto Oct. 12th, 1837 Dear Sir We have forwarded you by the steam boat Pocahontas 1 case merchandise - for which you will find a bill inside. Also a lot of Irish linen for which you will find a bill inside also Very Respectfully, Mr. John Cocke Hamilton Hart Portsmouth Va"
