Scope and Content

Framed Captain's License for George T. Lokey dated September 24, 1932 issued by the United States Department of Commerce, Steamboat Inspection Service titled License to Master of Steam and Motor Vessels, Serial Number 129209, Issue Number 6-8, entitling Captain Lokey to handle vessels not over 750gross tons upon the waters of Atlantic Coast between Cape Hatteras and Cape May, Bays and Sounds. Also First Class Pilot on Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries including Hampton Roads all on fishing steamers. Signed by U.S. Local Inspector of Hulls Paul H. Tyler and U.S. Local Inspector of Boilers David C. Goring. The framed license measures 9-3/4" x 11-1/2".
