This is a photo of a framed painting by Ludmilla Welch done in late 1887 to 1892 while she and her husband, Thadius Welch, lived in the cabin they build in Steep Ravine. The painting sized about 12 x 20 depict a couple of cows standing by the white gate of the White Gate Ranch. The gate is ajar and shows the landscape beyond alway down to the beach. Tha painting is framed in a simple gold frame.The white gate is rather gray because it is back lit. There are photo of very similar painting by Thadius signed TW on a corner in SBHS Collection.Collection
