This is a digital photo taken from page 233 of a book titled "Marin A History" written by Barry Spitz published in 2006. The black and white old photo shows Alfred Easkoot, ca1890. In 1850, he became the Marin County's first surveyor as well as the first man to start the tent resort in Stinson Beach in 1871. The photo shows an older man with a brimmed hat against vertical board fence or house wall. He is wearing a dark colored jacket or overcoat and buttoned shirt without tie. His weathered face is grimaced looking toward the sun. The photograph is signed E.A.Cohen on lower right. The photographer Cohen took many photos of Stinson Beach during the turn of century.Collection
