This is a photograph of a drawing of Samuel P. Weeks who owned the Weeks Ranch, last known as the Audubon Volunteer Canyon. Weeks, a Captain of the "Eliza," a Bolinas-San Francisco cargo ship, bought the 150-acre ranch from Briones of Rancho Bolinas in 1865. In this portrait he is a youngish gentleman with short hair and goatee-style beard. He is wearing formal attire with a bow tie. The photograph was taken from J.P.Monro-Fraser's History of Marin County, published on 1880.Collection
