Scope and Content

Tom remembers his grandfather hiking to Stinson with friends who built a cabin here in 1917, which he later became the weekend retreat for his parents and siblings in the 1930-40s and has become a family "anchor." He describes the "rustic" quality of pre-'50s life here and his early "windsurfing" and coin-digging experiences. He recalls Seadowns, the Pelican's Nest, Bungalow Grocery and the Greyhound buses. He mentions Gilbert & Mary Secords, the Laffalot family and family reunions. He concludes describing his work as a fisheries biologist on creek and steelhead trout restoration.
