Scope and Content

Helen Frink son and Elwood, Jr recall the days when Helen's parents (Lela & Charles Gould) came to Stinson in 1945 and opened the Halfway In (later known as Elwoods when the son took it over and named in after himself). Elwood also owned the Surf Club (later sold to "Friday" and renamed the Red Whale, which became the Over the Hill Bar & Grill, and is now the site of the Water District Bldg. Helen's years as church organist and writer for the Baywood Press, when she did a Stinson Beachcomber column, are described.
