A colored postcard of Sea Downs, a popular establishment on the beach. Photo was taken around 1950. Shows the beachfront side of Sea Downs (a long, low building with windows across the entire front) with many people going up to and out of the establishment via the front two stairs and passing time on the deck. Groups of people are sun-bathing in front on the sand. There are green hills in the background showing houses on Panoramic Hwy and the highway near the junction of Hwy One. The signs on Sea Downs read from the left: Refreshments/ Ice Cream/ Office/ Coca Cola/ Beach Cabins, Sea Downs, Dining Room/ Coca Cola/ Sea Downs.
The caption on the back of the post card reads, "Sea Downs on the Pacific, Stinson Beach California. Located just a few miles north of San Francisco on the Blue Pacific. This popular resort offers a beautiful beach with swimming, surf fishing, clamming, cottages and good food. Operated by Larry and Nina Wold, Chet Wold and Dorothy Mayfield."
