A black and white photograph of a house with a veranda in front. The upper dormer windows are open. Below the house is a wire fence with a gate on Buena Vista Avenue. The house was known as 'The Anchorage'. It provided lodging for the people who hiked in from over the hill.The house was commissioned by Laura White of Berkeley in 1914. Her friends came from Berkeley and hiked over the hill. Their parties were renown.Collection
