Scope and Content

Grandfather Lehe and family have been coming to Stinson since the 1940s. Jim spent summers here beginning in 1947, and moved here permanently in 1981. He mentions childhood friends Greg Sherfy, Kenny & Bobby Stevens and Peter Allen. He has taken up woodcarving and volunteers/teaches at the Marin Mammal Center and Richardson Bay Audubon Sancturary. His early neighbors were the Aireys, Rosetta Bull and Mrs. Marble. He recalls early 4th of July festivities, fishing in the lagoon, and early town "characters" (Col.White, Friday, Frenchy) and "atmosphere" (Elwoods, Over the Hill Bar &Grill, Babbling Brook where there was a bootlegging still), and the storm of 1982.
