For the first time there is Progressive Club stationery.
Opening statement: Because unincorporated towns, such as Stinson Beach, have no way of carrying on community business without some association, our Progressive club was formed in 1930, as a non-profit organization to take an active interest in the welfare of the community.
Shine for Thirty Nine - San Francisco's slogan was adopted and the ideas is to clean up every rubbish pile in town. If you cannot personally burn or remove your own rubbish the club will help.
After the disastrous Eggars fire it was decided to pay $25 to get chemicals for the fire dept.
It was a solicitation for new members. (nicely done)
Sixteen people attended the Jan. meeting.
Asking state park commission to acquire Willow Camp
Continuing concern for roads on the hill and the desire to get the upper roads paved.
In April there was a discussion about having lights on the main street in town.
There was concern about speeders through town.
In this connection there was discussion about appointing a deputy sheriff at Stinson.
The fire dept. asked the real estate office to try to find some place where they could put the fire engine more or less permanently.
Mr. Woodington was to be appointed deputy sheriff and life guard as soon as his record was cleared.
Two months later it was decided to ask for the appointment of R. Dittmar as Mr. Woodington's pardon was delayed for some time.Collection
