Scope and Content

A postcard produced by Stinson Beach Chevron to be sent to Boxholders of Marin County, in this case 94970, Stinson Beach. It is a photographic collage made by and copyrighted by Mary Bates, the second wife of the owner of the Chevron Station at the time, Gene Abbot. On the back stamped, 94924 permit No.7 in red. 94924 is Bolinas Zip Code where they lived. It must have been produced in early 1980's. The collage photo shows the Chevron station in the center where existed prior to the creation of Village Green II, two dinosaurs and ancient tree standing behind, under sky with grey clouds. There is a red car by the double gasoline pumps, smoking with the doors and hood and trunk open with a green dinosaur getting inside of the door. Another dinosaur is crossing in front of the tanks. Two half dead attendants lean against the wall and a gasoline pump. Two other cars are seen at lower right corner. On the back of the card printed: Stinson Beach Chevron P.O.
