A black and white poster announcing 2006 Season Ticket Brochure for Shakespeare at Stinson. The 2006 Season, May 5 to October 15 included, "The Complete History of America (Abridged)," "Hamlet," "The Beard of Avon," "Polly, Or The Millionaire's Opera" and "Taming of the Shrew," At the bottom of the poster, there is a quote, "SAS will perform 4 out of the 5 shows listed above for its 2006 season." SAS was started by Jeffery Trotter, a resident of Stinson Beach. He spent much of his money and time in this endeavor which had many ups and downs due to the location of the outdoor theater, next to the Post Office, Library and the Easkoot Creek; the Village Association and the Marin County Planing Department were not friendly to him. However, SAS stayed on to entertain people of the town and visitors for over 10 years until it moved to the Novato Fairground in 2007. Shakespeare at Stinson's first few years were performed in the garden of Barbara Chevalier, below the junction of Panoramic Highway and Highway 1.Collection
