Description

A color postcard of the Profile Rock , near summit of Mt. Tamalpais. The photograph was taken in the middle of day without much shadow. The rock looks like a face of a pensive man. The hillside in the back of the rock has another large rock outcropping. Under the profile rock has a small platform and wooden railing fence. More rocky hillside continues to foreground. Small bushes adorn his head to left. On the front of the postcard, a caption reads:117- Profile Rock, Near Summit of Mt. Tamalpais, California. On the back, it is printed: Postcard- printed in the United States. Edward Mitchell Publisher, San Francisco. Also see 2004-109-01 for the rock in different light.
