Scope and Content

Non profit status considered (Tax Board allowed Center to be listed as Social Welfare Community Organization) and was finally granted tax-exempt status in 1985 by Federal government. First Bong Show in 1981. The community center is reroofed in 1985 and other upgrades to kitchen, bathroom are approved. A funding committee was established and gets serious (summer BBQ, Christmas bazaar, Dipsea breakfast, bingo nights, casino nights, dances, "Shine on Ball"). By-laws amended to allow dual chairmanship.
