Began with discussion of the ground breaking for the new fire house.
The Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce announced they had decided to discontinue the Dipsea Race. The Progressive club was attempting to find a new sponsor.
Fire house was moving toward completion.
There were ninety-seven members of the Progressive Club.
The Dipsea was saved by sponsored by Hamilton Field and The Progressive Club.
Girl Scouts are to be Junior Hostesses and Boy Scouts are running the candy and popcorn booths at the July Celebration.
The Celebration netted $2500
The idea of having the Celebration at Labor Day and tying it into the Dipsea Race was proposed.
Beach condition was discussed at filthy, dirty, and deplorable.
Dipsea was successful.
The idea of having the fire wagon taken out every Saturday and dumping the water out to settle the dust.
Idea of having a monthly dance at the Fire House for the teen-ageers.
A shallow harbor in Bolinas was discussed.
Marin County Planning Commission letter about tentative map of Seadowns, for sub-division belonging to William Kent estate. It was withdrawn a month later.
There was a wonderful Halloween Party for children.
Louise and Bill Airey were presented with a lovely tablecloth and napkins in appreciation of the twenty years with the Progressive Club.Collection
