George Leonard and William Kent Jr. were to take part in Post Office dedication and there will be a display of new Fire Dept. equipment. Question about forming a West Marin School District so we would have our own high School and not have to go to Tam. Mr. Dougherty felt Stinson should proceed with sewage study without Bolinas since they were lagging. Property values are lagging due to no sewage system. Do we want to be part of Tomales high school district? Club voted in favor of joining the Tomales Unified School District. Water rates going up for capital improvements to Kent Estates Company's Seadrift and Lagoon development. Barbara Sherfy Chair of the Bldg& Grounds Committee requested a wood pile be moved. Idea for a one way street up Laurel and Belvedere…with a turn around. Bill's Superette is where notices are going up. Decided to move to quarterly meetings instead of one a month. There was a handmade Memorial Book begun by Edward Leslie and finished by Mrs. Walter Marble. This is a gift from the Club to the Community Center and will be in a special cabinet in the Community Church. There were problems with the Dipsea race and the Progessive Club wanted Pacific Amateur Athletic Union rules followed. The Stinson Beach County Water District was formed reported Hugh Dougherty. Hugh Dougherty was elected President and the office of Secretary/Treasurer was to be paid. The idea of a four lane highway alone Shoreline was discussed. The issue discussed was Scenic Highway vs. freeway development. Progressive Club is for Scenic Highway. Mr. Dougherty was a leader against freeway.
