Began with flooding on Calle del Arroyo, poor conditions on Panoramic Highway.
Mr. Tupper said that life here is a gamble-roads may be open or not, we may have electricity or not, but most of the taxes go to big communities.
Note to members and friends of the Progressive Club in April from the officers concerning:
1. highways-still concerned about freeway on top of Bolinas ridge. Club has diverse opinions about this.
2. the club is considering 2-hour parking on weekends in downtown business area.
3. Bolinas Harbor District was dissolved.
4. house numbers
5. no park near community center.
6. sewers-if commitments for Federal aid can be secured there may be Bolinas/Stinson sewers.
7. Low on money in club.
8. join the club.
By August membership and money were both up.
Stinson residents do not want a freeway.
Limited growth desired for town.
Most wanted underground utilities.
Most wanted sewage.
Mr. Dougherty said that the Water District which had been formed ten years ago was founded with sewage in mind. He presented the plan for it. It should be finished by 1972.
Mr. Walker a senior consultant for the Conservation Foundation said the geology of the Lagoon is unique and there can be no development that will not harm it. No boats, no noise and limited dredging. There should be no buildings outside the existing two towns. No highway development. No freeway. Very careful monitoring of limited dredging.
Oct. meeting set up committees to handle streets, underground utilities, and Planning and Zoning,
